General FAQ's

Yes. All volunteers are required to hold a current Blue Card and meet Brisbane Catholic Education compliance requirements before commencing any volunteering or activities involving students.

Volunteers may not participate in any school activities until all required documentation and approvals have been completed and verified.

2. Send an email to the school requesting to volunteer at the tuckshop (pcornubia@bne.catholic.edu.au). This will be passed on to the tuckshop convenor and she will contact you. Please include your mobile number in your email.

3. Bring your Blue Card into the front office so a copy can be made. 

Yes. The school has trained First Aid Officers on site who administer first aid as required.

Parents and carers will be contacted in the event of injuries such as head bumps or more serious incidents, depending on the severity.

If a child becomes unwell during the school day, including symptoms such as vomiting or diarrhoea, parents and carers will be contacted and asked to collect their child.

Students are to be dropped off and collected from the designated areas as outlined by the school. Parents and carers are asked to follow these procedures to support the safe and orderly movement of students, particularly during peak times.

Students should be collected from the front of the school, either from the grassed area or via the designated collection queue when driving into the school.

If your child arrives late or needs to leave early, this must be recorded via the BCE platform. Students are required to be signed in or out at the school office by a parent or authorised adult.

For safety reasons, students are not permitted to leave the school grounds unless a parent or authorised adult has been sighted by office staff.

Only adults listed as authorised contacts on your child’s school record are permitted to collect students.

Parents and carers are responsible for ensuring these details are kept up to date through the school’s approved process. Any changes to authorised contacts must be submitted in advance.

For student safety, the school will not release a student to any person who is not recorded as an authorised contact.

To complete an additional contact request please complete the attached form (PDF 182.2KB) and return to the office. 

Parents and carers who wish to volunteer at the school must complete the required application forms and meet all compliance requirements before participating in any activities and email pcornubia@bce.catholic.edu.au expressing the desired area to assist.

This includes fulfilling Brisbane Catholic Education requirements to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students. Volunteers may not commence until all documentation and approvals have been finalised.

Requests for extended leave when a student will be absent for an extended period of 11 days or more.

Parents and carers are asked to provide sufficient notice to allow the school to review and respond to the request in line with attendance requirements. Please contact the office at pcornubia@bce.catholic.edu to complete the required form.

All medication, including asthma medication, requires completed documentation before it can be administered at school.

Parents and carers must provide the necessary forms and ensure all documentation is current and submitted prior to any medication being given.

Required documentation includes:

  • Completed Form A
  • Completed Form B
  • A letter from a general practitioner or appropriately qualified medical practitioner with the required Asthma action plan or letter from practitioner.

It is essential that the school holds current and accurate family information at all times. Parents and carers must notify the school promptly of any changes, including:

  • Change of name
  • Change of home address
  • Changes to employment details
  • Updates to emergency contact information
  • Changes to serious medical conditions
  • Changes to custody or access arrangements

Where there are court orders or legal agreements relating to a student (including parenting orders, custody arrangements, or access restrictions), the school must be provided with the most current official documentation.

The school will:

  • Sight all relevant court orders
  • Retain a copy on the student’s school file
  • Act in accordance with the most recent documentation provided

It is the responsibility of parents and carers to ensure the school is kept up to date. The school cannot act on or enforce arrangements that have not been formally documented and provided.

A form to update family or student information is available from the school office.

Once payment has been made and a student’s place has been confirmed for an excursion or camp, refunds will generally not be provided. This is due to bookings, venues, transport, and external providers requiring confirmation and payment in advance.

The school day commences at 8:30am and concludes at 2:55pm with the following break times:

  • First Break: 10:45am - 11:15am
  • Second Break: 1:15pm - 1:55pm 

For health and safety reasons, pets are not permitted on school grounds. This includes before and after school hours.

If head lice are identified, parents and carers will be notified. Families may be asked to collect their child and begin treatment before the student returns to school, in line with the school’s health procedures.
