QCMF (Queensland Catholic Music Festival)

St Matthew’s proudly hosts two vibrant choirs that enrich the school community with music. The Junior Choir, made up of students from years 3 and 4, rehearses at lunchtime every Monday, offering younger children the opportunity to nurture their singing abilities and perform throughout the year. The Senior Choir, comprising students from years 5 and 6, meets before school on Tuesdays at 7:30am and builds on this foundation with more advanced and complex repertoire.

Currently, both choirs are busy preparing songs for the upcoming ANZAC ceremony in the first week back of term two. Afterward, their focus will shift to learning two songs each for the QCMF (Queensland Catholic Music Festival) in Term 3, Week 5. Through these rehearsals and performances, both choirs inspire teamwork, confidence, and a lifelong love of music.
